Cricket Tea Events – 25th Aug 2022
Folkestone CC recently assisted Kent County Council and the Kent Cricket Community Trust to deliver the first of their “Cricket & Tea” sessions for people aged 55 or over.
Coaches Malcolm Porter & Alwyn Fernandes were on hand to provide informal coaching as well as playing a slow paced game of cricket followed by a lovely cricket tea at Three Hills Sports Park.
The event was funded by the Social Enterprise Kent & KCC’s Community Well-being Fund.
KCC Community Connectors are championing positive wellbeing for the over 55s with the following aims:-
- Tackle loneliness
- Get involved in your community
- Learn a new still or try a new activity
- Increase self-confidence and self-esteem
- Achieve a better quality of life
- Improve your wellbeing
Would you like to join in the fun?
- Are you 55 or over and ever thought about having a go a cricket?
- Did you play cricket as child?
- Or has the cricket in the commonwealth games inspired you to find out more about the game?
- Would you like to get more active – but want to find a slower paced activity?
