Hythe Sports Pavilion
Coaches from Folkestone Cricket Club assisted the Kent Cricket Community Trust and AGE UK to deliver another “Cricket & Tea” session – this time at the Hythe Sports Pavilion.
Malcolm Porter & Alwyn Fernandes were on hand to provide some informal coaching on catching, bowling and batting. This was followed by a lovely cricket tea at the Hythe Sports Pavilion.
The events was for those who may be impacted by social isolation or were looking for well-being activities.
The aim of the event was to provide both physical and social activity as well as promoting the development of “walking cricket” in the district.
Every participant received a partnership well-being bag which KCCT have partnered with Release the Pressure Kent. These contained information and goodies, including suncream and a KCCT cricket stress ball.
If you know of a group or organisation that are interested in running a Cricket & Tea event, or you would like information on the Folkestone walking cricket group please contact communitytrust@kentcricket.co.uk
Kent Cricket Community Trust (KCCT) aims to make a positive impact in Our Community by engaging with individuals and social groups that can become, and often do feel, isolated.
Cricket has a unique ability to connect communities and improve lives. It is a sport that transcends generations and has the ability to reach beyond a diverse range of social boundaries in a way that few other sports do.
KCCT’s aim is to make a difference by ensuring that Kent Cricket, as a major sporting brand and as the leading sporting team in Our County, is identified as a Club that cares about Our Community because ‘Together, we are Kent’.
